Three day weekends are beautiful. *lazes* (I'm ignoring the fact that this is the last extended vacation I'll see until spring break for lo, that is depressing and unsuitable for this time of joy.)

The only goal I have for today is getting through the third act of Richard III and maybe a bit of the fourth. And dudes, all this Shakespeare is making me long for Slings & Arrows something fierce. I'm going to have to find a source because *grabby hands*

And then I'm going back to Master and Commander. There are entire paragraphs in which I understand only prepositions and conjunctions, but O'Brian is good about explaining the important things and conveying the gist of the action through all the detail. And I have wikipedia on standby if I absolutely must know what a deadeye is.

You guys. Omg, you guys. I'm about halfway through the book, Stephen and Jack have known each other for all of a week, and already THEY ARE MARRIED. Seriously, the bit where Jack is standing out in the rain and Stephen scolds him for it and brings him warmer clothes? I DIED. AND THEN I CAME BACK TO LIFE SO I COULD KEEP READING. They have PET NAMES for each other. They are forever gazing at one another with affection. And O'Brian very clearly establishes their feelings on the subject of buggery. It's killing me.

STEPHEN HAS HIS OWN FAN CLUB. It is the cutest, sweetest thing ever! They all love him and want to share their potential prize money with him for being so awesomesauce at the amputating and stuff. ♥

ALSO: SURPRISING FUNNY. "...Stephen, who, preferring to die in the open, had crept up on deck, had been made fast to a stanchion and who now stood, mute, sodden and appalled, behind him." I cackled, not even going to lie. Stephen is so clueless about anything and everything nautical. It's endearing.

I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting to say, but yeah. I've only read half and I kind of adore it.

M&C books are surprisingly hilarious. just wait til there are bees and snakes and a sloth and further ineptitude! Or, y'know, when Stephen's asking Jack to ebnd over lockers (no, SERIOUSLY). Hee. And I love the fanclub. The fanclub are so adorable, and Stephen totally deserves them. (they want autographs!!)

I LOVE THEM SO MUCH DAISY THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFULLY IN LOVE AND THEY CALL EACH OTHER "JOY" AND "SOUL" AND OH BABIES BABIES BABIES BABIES.

WAIT. NO. SERIOUSLY? I want ALL OF THOSE THINGS right the hell now. (I keep being surprised at the bits of funny because they're so unexpected! It's this scattered assortment of hilarity in the midst of all the sailing and the fighting and whatnot.)

The fanclub, oh my heart. I actually went 'awwwwww!' at my book.

I LOOOOOOOOOVE THEM. They are complete and total OTP. *smishes them*

YES, SERIOUSLY. (and that isn't even my faaaavourite bit. my faaavourite bit is when Stephen falls off the boat again and Jack dives after him and then when the crew can't find them they're just like, oh yeah, must be the Doctor. Again. hee. Oh or possibly when Jack and Stephen meet some Lesbians - again, YES SERIOUSLY.)

I totally 'aww' at my books all the time when reading them. :D :D Yaaaaaytp!!!

YOU CANNOT SAY THINGS LIKE THAT AND EXPECT ME TO NOT DIE. I'm strongly considering just going ahead and getting the next two books NOW so they can be here sooner. It's not like there's a question of whether or not I'll read them, that is already decided.

(Oh! I remembered part I left out! When Jack and Stephen are pacing the deck together in their own little bubble right before the first battle and Stephen's kind of marveling to himself at being isolated like usual, but with a companion now... ♥)

FAVE SHIP.

I would say do it, just because OMFG THEY ARE BOYFRIENDS TO THE EXTENT THAT THE CREW, WHEN THEY FALL OUT, ARE JUST, LIKE, "OH CRAP, THEY'RE BOTH GOING TO BE IN TERRIBLE MOODS FOR WEEKS". THEY ARE THAT OTP. It's just, omfg.

(I almost forgot that bit!!!!! OMFG!!)

FAVE SHIIIIIPP!!!

Stephen and Jack are among my favourite book boyfriends. God they made me meep and squeak and lay in bed grinning. Even when they fall out it is hilarious because it makes the crew all *walrus face of sad* because it's just not the natural order of things for them to be anything other than draped over each other and calling each other "Joy". And now they're being added back to the reading stack for another go through, of course one of the best things is that there are so many.

Although, there are still not enough as I wanted them as old crotechty men living together by the ocean with Stephen wandering off looking for cockles on the sea and having to be rescued by a half-deaf Jack in a rowboat because the tide came in without Stephen noticing (for the second time this week) and taking him home and generally being motherhenish about Stephen getting sick while Stephen gets all snappy about who the doctor in this relationship is and that Jack has no room to talk what with falling out of the apple tree when he was trying to get a better view of the Sound and yes, George told him about it and no, he wasn't to go up there again. They had a perfectly serviceable attic with a view and more, importantly stairs because Stephen refuses to spend the rest of his days alone because Jack broke his head again but this time it stuck.

Well that kind of got away from me there, but still I'm sure you see my point: Those two are absolutely adorable.

They went from the concert row of I Loathe That Man to sekritly married in about a day. That has to set some kind of record. I want so badly to get to one of their arguments just to watch the crew's reaction and to see the inevitable angst because those two? They are too clearly OTP and full of love for each other to bear a fight very well. It'll be glorious, I'm sure.

You can let your comments run wild and free any time you like and I will draw little hearts all around them. <3
