I'm AWESOME at getting around to things months and months after everyone else has moved on.

I don't quite know how to talk about it. There's just SO MUCH there. So many ideas and observations and YES moments. I kept rewinding bits to try to soak it all in.

The acting is fucking BRILLIANT. I'm fighting the urge to list cast members with exclamation points after their name. That's seriously all I can manage for Richard Griffiths. Richard Griffiths!!!!!!! I really, really liked Irwin as well, the way the actor portrayed that supreme confidence when he's talking academia and the diffidence when things are actually happening to him. The tension whenever Dakin makes a move is palpable, and just - yeah, it's more than a little hot, I'm not going to lie, even if that's wading over to the shallow side of the pool.

I love Scripps. He was maybe my favorite, in a way I didn't even notice as it was happening. There's so much unexplored but beautifully implied depth there. He was fascinating. And Posner! That scene with Hector when he's reciting the poem. Hector's history is in that list of compound adjectives and maybe Posner's future as well - the loneliness in it is almost tangible. Hector's description of what it's like, stumbling across something written by someone you've never met and probably never will and recognizing yourself in it - I nearly cried at that point. I know that feeling. The movie's filled with those moments, and I want to swim in it. Their discussion about the Holocaust and the nature of history, oh my heart. And! Frances de la Tour's character's speech about how infinitely fucking DEPRESSING it can be to be a woman in a field dominated by men and the actions of men was just - *hands* YES.

I DON'T KNOW, YOU GUYS. SOMEONE TALK TO ME ABOUT THIS. *pleading eyes*
