2008 is determined to suck.

Our dog's been throwing up a lot the past couple of days and looking like she feels pretty awful, so Dad took her to the vet yesterday. They called back a couple of minutes ago. She's got kidney disease. We're looking at a year tops, probably much, much less than that. Maybe only a couple of weeks. There's not a lot we can do: special diet, manage the pain, and just wait it out.

This is going to kill my mom, you guys. She loves that dog so much. And she's already pretty worked up about the surgery she has to have next month. I'm having Dad hold off on telling her for now; she's at work, there's nothing she can do, she'll just be a wreck all day.

I'm really fucking determined to not give in to your bullshit, 2008. You could start taking it a little easier any time now.
